Blah!

You might have noticed I wasn't at school today. If you didn't you
aren't in my class (or you're crazy).
So yeah, I was sick. But, I MISSED STAT TESTING! Wahh!! But, they'll
be make ups (But still, wah!) I feel better already, so I'll probably
be in school tomorrow.
In other news, I'm in my pajamas.
I really like them. They're green and pink camouflage with little
strawberries all over them.

Ghoti Should Be Pronounced Fish

I'm writing about this because about a week ago, my dad told me about this. So, I though it would be interesting to post about.

 By Josef Essberger

Some languages are "phonetic". That means that you can look at a word and know how to say it. English is not phonetic. You cannot always look at an English word and know how to say it. You cannot always hear an English word and know how to spell it.

George Bernard Shaw (GBS) was a famous Irish writer. He wanted to reform English spelling so that it was more logical. He asked the following question as an example:

How do we pronounce the word "ghoti"?

His answer was "fish".

How can "ghoti" and "fish" sound the same? GBS explained it like this:

  • the gh = f as in rouGH
  • the o = i as in wOmen
  • the ti = sh as in naTIon

Of course, this was a joke. The word "ghoti" is not even a real word.

GBS...
I like that.
Weird, right?
I don't agree with the O/i though.
Some people say "wimin", but I say "wuhmen".
IT's still kind of cool, though.

Angie J.

This Angie Johnson.
Bff of Kat.
Moi didn't think it was possible, but Kenny is even MORE annoying.
So, from now on, we're (me, kat, shalii*) are calling him Mike.
Well, The O started it by walking up to him and saying "hey Mike" so now we're doing.

Kat Edits ^.^
Join the club!
Call him Mike!

But remember Kat's rules...
Kat, edit this.

Kat Edits ^.^
TY, Angie.

1. Say it casually
2. Say it with a purpose. Don't just say "Hey Mike" all the time.
Eg. "Mike, can you move over?"

So, any ways, it's kind of funny.

That's Moi!

*Moi is not sure if Melow or Aki know about this...

Suncatcher

Guess What?
I got a sun catcher today.
It's really pretty, and has a bunch of circles and mirrors.
I'm gonna hang it by the window.
I'll try to put a picture when it's hung.
:-)

Blah

Not much to say today.
Today we watched our kindergarden buddies' music performance (hey
Claire!).
I also had a GATE class today (yes, the theater one).
So, I got a part (yay!) as the giant's wife in Jack and The Beanstalk.
We're only doing one scene, though.
In other news (I say that a lot, don't I?), yesterday (as Angie
mentioned) we had an end-of-pioneers unit party.
We watched the (sad ☺) movie that Angie brought in and 1+1's mom
passed out sparkling water (from Soda Springs, a pioneer landmark) and
some beef jerky (pioneers' dried meat).

Angie Johnson

This is Angie Johnson.
So, today, first, moi wants to say that moi brought a movie to class today.
It kinda had to do with our pioneers unit so...
It was so sad that  Kat started crying!

Kat Edits ^.^
Hey! Not real crying.
Pretend crying.
Just ask Shals.
Or Melo.
Or you.
You should know!

*Angie*

Fine
it was fake crying.

Second Melo got a new haircut!

Kat Edits ^.^
Well, now her bangs show!

Third, I had a blood test on the weekend Frown.
Well, it actually wasn't that bad.
I'm a type B.

That's Moi!

Home Sweet Home

I got home a little while ago and of course, I had to post after doing
the important stuff like unpacking, seeing who got eliminated from
American Idol...
So, yesterday I mentioned Brownie. My San Diego friend. So yeah, she
does have a blog now, at fudgibuddi.blog.com
Other news, I'm 10!
Well, I turned ten on the 15th, but I just feel like announcing it :-P.

...

I'm officially in San Diego now and my previous posts' prediction came true.
Today we went to the beach (me, my aunt, my brother and my toddler cousin).
High tide was coming in so it was fun.
Oh, BTW right now I'm in the (study?) with my (SD) friend Brownie.
She's watching me type and asking to so, you have the floor, Brownie.

Brownie:
TY Kat.
I am typing slowly. Kat is wearing a poka dot brown totally cute dress staring at the screen wondering what I am typing.
Fudge ,
Brownie <3
Peace out!
Back to Kat.

Also, Brownie is thinking about starting a blog, so I'll keep you posted.

...

I know I haven't been posting much as it is, but spring break starts
TOMORROW so I'm going on plane tomorrow with my brother to my cousins'
house. They already left tonight (the kids have school) so me and my
brother will be on our own. Since we'll be pretty busy, I apologize
for the fact that I probably won't post a lot :-(.
So, instead I'll write what I might have posted.
Day 1- We arrived today at 7:00. As soon as we got out, we saw them
waiting for us. We got her like two hours ago.
Got to go! My mom is on the phone making sure everything's okay.
Day 2- On the 15th (today!) is my real birthday. So even though we
already celebrated it at home, we got some pizza and cake.
Day 3- Today we went to the beach. Well, San Diego is known for it's
many beaches and this one was great
Day 4- I woke up REALLY early today. I usually wake up right before my
cousins go to school, and eat breakfast with them, but today, I woke
up 6 (6!!) HOURS EARlLIER! DOn't you hate when that happens? You're on
vacation and you have nothing to do, and you can't go back to sleep
and bla bla bla bla bla...
Day 5- I can't believe we're going back tomorrow. It feels like we've
barely even been here.
Day 6- We're leaving in TWO HOURS! I'll miss San Diego and my
relatives, but I'll be glad to be home.

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday everybody!
Don't you just love Fridays?
Staying up late.. Emailing friends...Reading blogs at 9:22..
So, I mentioned a certain thing in in one of my posts and now it's safe to say what it is.
We planned a surprise party for Mrs. R!
It was hard keeping it a secret for so long, but it was totally worth it.
The theme was Mickey Mouse (she loves him!) and yellow and green (her fav colors).
We were her first class ever to throw her a surprise party.
Later, I asked if we were now her favorite class and she said that we already were, but this made it even more so.
It went AWESOME! Also, Angie wants to write a little about this, so I'll leave the details to her.
